why 'Forgotten Stones'?

Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of God’s Kingdom. Built upon Him are believers, each one like a stone placed with purpose to form something strong and lasting. Yet too often, some of these stones are overlooked, rejected, or forgotten by the world. Forgotten Stones exists to serve those people.
In Fort Wayne, we walk alongside our neighbors experiencing homelessness, many of whom are unseen and dismissed by society.
We believe they are not forgotten by God. They are living stones, created with value and meaning, meant to be restored and placed where they belong within God’s Kingdom.
Our mission is to find those forgotten stones, remind them of their worth in Christ, and help rebuild lives through compassion, dignity, and hope so that together we can build God’s Kingdom as He intended.”

Board Chairman
Kyle Lunford
Kyle is Director of Homeownership and Community Development, at Ruoff Mortgage as well as a professor of accounting and finance at the University of Saint Francis.
His personal statement is as follows: "Serving others always comes first. Serving my family, friends and neighbors means so much more than accomplishing any of my personal goals. I am second to the service of God and others!" He has experience in financial budgeting, banking, homeownership and financial oversight.

Brandi Schorey
Brandi Schorey is currently the Community Relations Representative for Anthem Medicaid for northeast Indiana. She is active in her community and passionate about changing the system and providing access and opportunity to all. She is married, has one son, and lives in Fort Wayne.

JJ Foster
John J. Foster, known as “J.J.,” is a dedicated leader with nearly thirty years of experience in enhancing the lives of youth and families through his work in sports, government, and nonprofits. He began his career in Social Services, progressing to roles such as a Juvenile Probation Officer and Director of Education and Youth Services for the Urban League, where he implemented impactful initiatives and improved corporate sponsorships. At the Fort Wayne Housing Authority, he developed social service programs, helping over 9,000 residents achieve self-sufficiency. Currently, as a CRA Loan Mortgage Officer at Lake City Bank, J.J. focuses on increasing minority loans and financial education in underserved communities. He holds various certifications and is active in several committees and boards, including the Race Equity and Inclusion coalition and Habitat for Humanity. J.J. is also the author of the “Me and C” children’s book series. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he graduated from the University of South Carolina-Coastal Carolina and continues to impact his community significantly.

Ryan Cochran
Ryan serves as the Lead Pastor at Broadway Christian Church in Downtown Fort Wayne. He loves facilitating the partnership between Forgotten Stones and the church. Ryan's is married to Katie and they have four children: Gloria, Joy, Evangeline, and Abraham.

Dusty brings years of experience working with the unhoused, making him a valuable to Forgotten Stones since the fall of 2025. As a consultant, he has played a crucial role in shaping business model decisions while ensuring that quality care is consistently provided for the most vulnerable members of our community. Mary Ann Mings
After nearly 30 incredible years with a single organization in one industry, I took a significant leap of faith and ventured into the nonprofit sector.
All the skills I acquired transitioned effortlessly into these new and uncharted waters! I have expanded an existing ministry, added staff, secured funding, raised community awareness, and advocated vigorously for those who have no one to stand up for them.

Emily has spent her entire life in Fort Wayne, where she developed a deep passion for supporting the most vulnerable members of society. She has held the position of Program Director at Circles of Allen County for the past three years. As a Master's level Social Worker, Emily has extensive experience in serving the community and addiction therapy.

Born and raised in Southern Oklahoma, service to other's, kindness and compassion were instilled in me at a very young age. My heart for those who society has forgotten, discarded and deemed unworthy has always been on the forefront of everything I do. Fast forward a few years and I found myself in Fort Wayne, IN with my husband Ryan of 17 years and our two teenage boys Alex and Logan. This is where I crossed paths with Forgotten Stones and immediately fell in love with their mission. I am proud to serve as the "Housing Lady" as I am referred to by our clients. There is no greater joy than seeing someone who had given up hope get the keys to their own home! I am looking forward to continuing serving my "Forgotten Stones" for many years to come!
